Open Circle Theater and cutting-edge provocateurs Tamara Paris + Matt Fontaine's
new performance collective The High Kindergarten Performance Group, or HKPG, will present their new work SPADE COOLEY'S
NIGHTMARE at Open Circle Theater from February 4th through February
19th, Friday and Saturday nights at 11:00 PM.
SPADE COOLEY'S NIGHTMARE is a minimalist performance event based on the life of 40's Western Swing star "Spade" Cooley, who rode to the heights of fame, only to watch it all slip away. One night in a Thorazine and booze induced rage he tortured and ultimately stomped his wife to death in front of their 14-year old daughter. The HKPG have taken this story on the nature of evil, the cruel price of fame, and the darkness seething beneath America's cultural history and have create a one of a kind event not to be missed.
